In 2004 another report came from a camper in Kettle Marine State Forest. The individual claimed to have heard high-pitched laughter and chattering noises late at night. Intrigued, the camper used a flashlight to investigate and reported seeing several small creatures congregating near a creek. These beings appeared to be engrossed in some sort of ritual, holding sticks and dancing around a small fire. The camper was too frightened to approach and quickly retreated to his campsite. The next day, upon investigating the same spot, he found an array of small Footprints in what appeared to be the remnants of a tiny fire. Local Rangers were notified but dismissed the claim attributing it to wildlife and imagination
